Poll Shows Ben-Gvir's Refusal to Unite Weakens Support for His Party

A new poll conducted by Channel 14 and NEXT DATA reveals that 51% of coalition voters believe that National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir's refusal to unite with other right-wing parties will weaken support for his Otzma Yehudit party. The survey, which included 865 adults, was conducted on September 3, 2026, as the deadline for list submissions for the upcoming elections approaches.

Regarding the potential entry of Ofer Winter into politics, respondents were divided on his next steps if his party fails to pass the electoral threshold. Twenty-seven percent suggested he should join the Religious Zionism-Tzomet party, while 20% advised him to withdraw from politics. Another 14% recommended he accept reserved spots in the Likud party, and 13% believe he should continue his political efforts independently.

The poll also examined the impact of MK Tali Gottlieb's move from Likud to Otzma Yehudit. A significant majority, 90% of Likud voters, stated they would still vote for Likud regardless. However, 7% admitted they might switch their vote to Otzma Yehudit, 2% indicated they would vote for Smotrich and Feiglin, and 1% remained undecided.

In contrast to the 51% who feel Ben-Gvir's stance will weaken his party, 35% of coalition voters stated that his refusal to unite would not change their position. A smaller group, 10%, indicated it would strengthen their support, while 4% were undecided.
