Poll Shows Netanyahu Bloc Tied With Opposition in Knesset Seat Projections
A new poll from Israel's Channel 13 indicates that the bloc of parties supporting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has drawn even with the opposition in projected Knesset seats. Both political camps are now forecast to receive 53 mandates, while Arab parties are expected to secure 14 seats. This outcome means neither bloc would achieve the 61 seats required to form a government.
The results represent a significant shift from a poll conducted just one week prior. In that survey, opposition parties held a lead with 57 mandates compared to Netanyahu's bloc's 48, with Arab parties projected at 15 seats.
The change is attributed, in part, to the projected entry into the Knesset of two right-wing parties supporting the prime minister. Ofir Winter's "The People of Israel" party is now expected to win four mandates, and the "Religious Zionism" and "Zehut" alliance is projected to gain six seats.
Additionally, Netanyahu's "Likud" party has narrowed the gap with Gadi Eisenkot's opposition "Yashar" party, with Likud projected to receive 21 mandates and Yashar 22.
