Singer Naor Cohen Claims Moshik Afia Stole His Song

Singer Naor Cohen has accused fellow artist Moshik Afia of releasing one of Cohen's songs from a decade ago on Afia's new album without proper credit. Cohen claims the song, originally titled "Ze Ani" (It's Me), was released by him ten years prior and is now featured on Afia's album under a different name, "Hayiti Lecha" (I Was For You), with no mention of Cohen as the original performer or that it is a cover.

Cohen stated that the original songwriter, Revital Nechmani, apparently forgot about his version and licensed the song to Afia. Cohen expressed his desire for recognition as the original artist, emphasizing that while there might not be a legal requirement for credit in this specific instance, he feels it is a matter of professional respect. He lamented that artists of Afia's stature should not treat lesser-known artists this way.

Cohen further explained that even after informing Afia and his team about the situation, they did not add his name as the original performer. Cohen believes that Afia was unaware it was a cover, but holds the songwriter responsible for the oversight. Despite the situation, Cohen insists he is only seeking credit, not financial compensation, and feels disrespected as an artist.

Afia's representatives have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the allegations.
