Moshik Afia Makes Triumphant Return with Record-Breaking Concert Series in Tel Aviv
Moshik Afia, a beloved Israeli singer who retired from music in 2021 after nearly three decades, is making a remarkable comeback. After selling 55,000 tickets in just six months, Afia is launching his fifth concert at the Menora Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv, scheduled for August 31, 2026. He expressed his excitement on Instagram, saying, "I’m as excited as at my very first show. The sky is the limit."
Afia initially stepped away from the music scene citing fatigue from lack of radio support, fewer performance opportunities, the COVID-19 pandemic, and a desire to focus on family life. During his hiatus, he ventured into business, including car sales and opening a shoe store in Holon. Although he released a song with Elkana Marziano about a year after retiring, he did not officially return to music until 2024.
The turning point came after the October 7, 2023, attack, which impacted businesses and prompted Afia to resume performing. In 2024 and 2025, he released new songs such as "Good Boy" and "Lovers’ Troubles," the latter a duet with Zehava Ben. His concerts in Tel Aviv quickly sold out, signaling a strong fan resurgence.
In January 2026, Afia held his first solo show at Menora Mivtachim Arena, which sold out rapidly and featured guest appearances by Shlomi Saranga, new arrangements, and medleys of hits. He has since continued to fill the arena multiple times, culminating in the upcoming fifth show. Afia’s return marks a significant milestone in his career and a major event in the Israeli music scene.
