Hapoel Tel Aviv Considers Bringing Back Club Legend Erez Zaichik

Hapoel Tel Aviv is undergoing another period of upheaval with the departure of CEO Oren Hasson, who had been in the role for just over a week after serving as chairman for two months. Hasson's exit was decided by Chairman Stav Shaham, who will manage the club until new officials are appointed. Sources indicate that Hapoel Tel Aviv aims to bring back individuals closely associated with the club into its management under Shaham.

One such figure the club wishes to re-recruit is Erez Zaichik, a former player who represented Hapoel during its early years in the second and third divisions. Zaichik also served as the club's marketing manager for several years and as a board member for two years before leaving his positions in 2016 when the team was in the top league. It remains unclear what role Zaichik, 48, who currently resides in Thailand, would assume if the move materializes.

Club officials stated that current decisions are being made by Shaham, with the backing of the club's board. It was also acknowledged by various sources that owner Ofer Yanai has stepped back and is not involved in the recent changes. Hapoel hopes these upcoming changes will foster a closer relationship with the fans, which has been significantly damaged in recent years.
