Hapoel Tel Aviv Chairman Sacks CEO After Ten Days Over Management Style Differences

Hapoel Tel Aviv's new chairman, Stav Shaham, has dismissed the club's CEO, Oren Hasson, after just ten days in the role, citing fundamental differences in management approaches. Shaham announced that he will temporarily serve as CEO himself until a permanent replacement is found.

In an interview with "5 Ba'avir," Shaham explained that Hasson, who came from complex organizational backgrounds like the Football Association, had a management style that did not align with his own. Shaham described his preferred methods as more "high-tech" and "moment-to-moment," favoring a lean, efficient staff where each member has clearly defined responsibilities.

"My expectations from people are different, and it didn't fit," Shaham stated. He emphasized that when a new leader sees things aren't working after a short period, changes are necessary, comparing it to any business organization. Shaham aims to build a highly effective team to elevate Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Shaham also addressed the departure of another figure, Tzachi Reichenstein, stating he was not a fit for the new management line. Regarding club operations, Shaham reported strong sales of hundreds of season tickets and positive interest from sponsors and fans, indicating optimism for a new beginning.

Furthermore, Shaham expressed a desire to resolve the ongoing crisis with the club's supporters and work collaboratively with the fan association, aiming for unity and shared success, including celebrating a championship at the end of the season. He asserted that he, along with the board, leads Hapoel Tel Aviv and makes the final decisions.
