First Suspect Arrested in Palestinian Village Violence

Five days after violent riots erupted in the Palestinian village of Qusra, Israeli police arrested a 19-year-old suspect from the Samaria region on Thursday morning. The arrest was made by detectives from the inter-organizational command in the Judea and Samaria district. The suspect was taken for questioning, and police are expected to request an extension of his detention at a court hearing.

During the riots last Saturday, dozens of rioters barricaded themselves inside a Palestinian home in Qusra while residents were present. The rioters threw stones, injuring a Palestinian woman. Despite the large number of participants, no arrests were made at the time of the incident.

According to Israeli sources in Judea and Samaria, the confrontation began when dozens of Palestinians threw stones at a group of Israelis who were on a tour in the area, accompanied by a foreign media crew. The Israelis reported being attacked with stones and clubs by Palestinians from Qusra. A confrontation ensued, involving stone-throwing from both sides.

Earlier in the week, police confiscated a pickup truck suspected of being used by rioters in Qusra. Following the vehicle's seizure at the "Mevaser Shalom" outpost, riots broke out in the area, including stone-throwing. Two suspects were arrested during that incident.
