Twenty New Families Settle in Harmeish, Boosting West Bank Settlement Growth

The settlement of Harmeish in the northern West Bank welcomed 20 new young families, comprising dozens of children, in a festive ceremony on Sunday. This influx marks a significant milestone for the community and the wider region, symbolizing a surge in settlement development.

To accommodate the new residents, a kindergarten and daycare center have been opened, and a caravan neighborhood was established in cooperation with the Amana movement. This expansion is part of a broader settlement initiative led by the Samaria Regional Council across northern Samaria, aimed at strengthening Israeli presence through the expansion of existing settlements and the establishment of new ones.

Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan praised the new families, stating, "Settlement here is the beating heart of the land. Harmeish will be a huge settlement full of children and construction." He emphasized that the arrival of these families demonstrates the Israeli people's commitment to deepening roots and building in the area.

Ze'ev Hever, Secretary-General of Amana, noted the simultaneous establishment of dozens of settlements and the strong public demand to join them. He highlighted the success in populating these new and expanding communities.

Efrat Pelaheime, representing the new families, expressed her love for the settlement, calling it "love at first sight" and wishing for continued growth and positivity. Ronnie Mizrahi, chairman of the settlement, declared, "One million residents in Samaria, it's happening now!"

The initiative is part of the "Connection Program" led by the Samaria Regional Council and Amana, following government decisions. This program includes the establishment of 19 new settlements in northern Samaria, aligning with the Samaria Council's "One Million in Samaria" plan.
