Twenty New Families Settle in Northern Samaria's Hermesh

The settlement of Hermesh in northern Samaria has expanded with the arrival of 20 new families, comprising dozens of children, who have established their homes there. The families were welcomed at a festive ceremony attended by residents and public figures. In response to the influx of new residents, a new caravan neighborhood was established in the settlement in cooperation with the Amana movement. A kindergarten and daycare center were also opened to serve the children of these families.

The absorption of the 20 families is part of a settlement initiative led by the Samaria Regional Council in northern Samaria, which aims to expand and strengthen existing settlements while establishing new ones in the area. Head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, welcomed the families, stating, "We salute the veteran residents who defeated terror and hardship. Settlement here is the beating heart of the land. Hermesh will be a huge settlement full of children and construction. Today, we see with our own eyes how the vision of settlement becomes a living, breathing reality." Dagan added, "The arrival of 20 new families in Hermesh in one day is a clear statement from the people of Israel, we are here to deepen our roots, to build and be built. The momentum of construction and expansion of settlements in northern Samaria is the most triumphant Zionist answer. The land of the Bible calls its children, and they are returning to it with joy and strength."

Ze'ev Hever (Zambish), Secretary-General of Amana, remarked at the ceremony, "The great miracle is that we are establishing dozens of settlements simultaneously, and people are flocking to us, asking to be accepted into the settlements." Nucleus member Efrat Pelehimer expressed, "For us, the settlement was love at first sight. I wish that we will all add only good, because there is a lot of good here, and we see the good in the landscapes, the people, all the work here, and all the structures and trees. May we be a light in Samaria, and a light for all the people of Israel." Settlement chairman Roni Mizrahi added, "Proud to be part of the settlement enterprise. One million residents for Samaria, it's happening now!"

This move is part of the "Connection Plan" led by the Samaria Regional Council and the Amana movement, following a decision by the Israeli cabinet and government, spearheaded by Ministers Israel Katz and Bezalel Smotrich. The plan includes the establishment of 19 new settlements in the northern Samaria region, as part of the Samaria Council's "One Million in Samaria" program.
