New Kindergartens Open in Samaria Settlements as School Year Begins

Over 25,000 students in the Samaria Regional Council began the new school year on Tuesday, with the opening of several new educational institutions. This year marks the inauguration of four new post-elementary schools and eight kindergartens, six of which are located in newly established communities in northern Samaria. This expansion is presented as part of a renewed settlement drive in the region.

Among the new institutions are the "Kadma" preparatory yeshiva in Kfar Tapuah, a special education post-elementary school in Revava, and a religious technological high school for girls in Eli Zahav. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan inaugurated the "Kadma" yeshiva, highlighting significant investment in education as a reflection of settlement growth.

Dagan described the opening of the six kindergartens in the new northern Samaria communities as the "true Zionist response" to settlement expansion, emphasizing the reopening of educational facilities in areas where settlements and kindergartens were previously dismantled. The council is implementing a five-year plan to invest NIS 50 million in upgrading and developing educational facilities across Judea and Samaria, aiming to enhance educational services and excellence amidst rapid population growth and ongoing settlement construction.

Thousands of students are transported daily to schools via over 1,200 bus routes. The council operates 28 elementary schools, 11 post-elementary institutions, and 168 kindergartens.
