Elay Almogayes Nears Move to Second-Tier Bnei Yehuda
Israeli midfielder Elay Almogayes, 26, is reportedly on the verge of signing with Bnei Yehuda, a team in Israel's second division, the National League. Almogayes, once considered a significant prospect in Israeli football, previously played for European clubs including Hoffenheim, Den Haag, and Admira, and has made five appearances for the Israeli national team.
Since returning to Israel in 2023 after leaving Maccabi Haifa's youth academy in 2015, Almogayes has played for Bnei Sakhnin, Ironi Tiberias, and Maccabi Bnei Raina. His move to Bnei Yehuda would mark his fourth club in Israel since his return.
Almogayes's career began with promise, but his move to the National League signifies a shift from his earlier European aspirations and national team call-ups.
