IDF Reopens Southern Route 10 to Travelers With New Weekend Hours

The spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced a change in travel guidelines for the southern region, effective Saturday. Route 10, situated near the western border in the Paran Brigade sector, will revert to its regular opening schedule. Previously, during the summer vacation, the route was accessible on Thursdays as well.

Under the updated regulations, Route 10 will be open to hikers and travelers only on Fridays and Saturdays. The hours of operation will be from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, covering the segment between Azuz and Harif. The IDF emphasized that entry requires presenting identification and registering at the entrance, with no prior coordination needed.

Concurrently, the IDF clarified that security forces will continue their training exercises in designated firing zones across southern and northern Israel throughout the weekend. Consequently, these southern firing zones will remain entirely closed to the public. The military urged the public to adhere to these restrictions, avoid restricted areas, and allow security forces to conduct their operations safely.
