Israel's Military Reopens Popular Hiking Route Near Egyptian Border

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that Route 10, a popular hiking trail near the Egyptian border in the Paran Regional Brigade sector, will return to its regular opening schedule starting Thursday. The route will be accessible to hikers only on Fridays and Saturdays, between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM, connecting Azuz to Har Harif. This marks a change from the summer vacation period, during which the route was also open on Thursdays.

The IDF stated that it will continue its training exercises in firing zones across the country throughout the weekends. Consequently, these training areas in southern Israel will remain closed to hikers. The military urged the public to refrain from entering restricted areas to allow security forces to carry out their missions without interference.

Entry to Route 10 requires presenting identification and registering at the entrance; no prior coordination is necessary.
