Netanyahu's Wife Faces New $1.2 Million Lawsuit Over Interview Claims

Sara Netanyahu is facing a new lawsuit for defamation, this time from Amir Sade, one of the defendants in the flare-shooting incident near the Prime Minister's residence. Sade's legal representative, Adv. Gonnen Ben-Yitzhak, sent a pre-litigation letter to Netanyahu and Channel 14, alleging that statements made by Netanyahu in a recent interview constitute libel against Sade and others involved in the case. Sade is demanding $1.2 million in damages if his demands are not met.

During the interview, Netanyahu described the flare incident as "terror" and claimed those involved "shot bombs at us" with the "intention to kill." She further alleged that a flare was a "phosphorus bomb" that "burns and kills," and that a security guard narrowly avoided being burned. Sade's attorney argues these statements falsely accuse his client of attempted murder, terrorism, and using phosphorus weapons, while asserting Sade's clean record and presumption of innocence during his ongoing legal proceedings.

The pre-litigation letter also states that the court has already determined Netanyahu's four key claims about the incident to be false. Sade is therefore demanding that the interview and its clips be removed from Channel 14's digital platforms. Additionally, Netanyahu is required to issue a correction and apology clarifying that no bombs were used, no phosphorus was involved, the event was not terrorism, and there was no intent to kill.

If these demands are not met, Sade intends to file separate lawsuits: $400,000 against Sara Netanyahu, $400,000 against Channel 14, and another $400,000 against "Digital Now 14," totaling the $1.2 million claim. Adv. Ben-Yitzhak stated, "The days when the Prime Minister, his family, and his propaganda channel lie and smear citizens without response are over. Sara Netanyahu will apologize, or she will pay."

This action follows a similar pre-litigation letter sent by Yair Golan to Sara Netanyahu the previous day regarding the same interview. Golan also demanded a public apology and compensation for Nova party survivors, threatening a defamation suit of at least $650,000 if his demands were not met.
