Former Players and Colleagues Surprise Soccer Coach Yitzhak Shum at Birthday Party
Former coaches, players, family, and close friends organized a surprise birthday party for veteran soccer coach Yitzhak Shum, who celebrated his 78th birthday. Shum was visibly moved by the occasion, embracing attendees with tears in his eyes.
The celebration featured a touching tribute, including a video presentation with heartfelt messages. Among those sending greetings was Boaz Golan of Channel 14 and News 04, who recalled meeting Shum at Old Trafford stadium in Manchester during Maccabi Haifa's historic first Champions League match.
Attendees wore custom shirts to honor Shum. His family sported Hapoel Kfar Saba jerseys, while former players who played under him at Beitar Tel Aviv wore shirts emblazoned with "Yitzhak Shum." Notable guests included fellow coaches Shlomo Sharf, and former players and figures such as Eli Alon, Yoav Habib, Yossi Edri, Rokvan, Yaron Perselani, Shlomo Edri, Even Tzur, and retired police commissioner Yossi Sadbon.
