Jaffa Port to Host Three-Day Fair Supporting Businesses from Northern Israel

Dozens of farmers, artists, and producers from Israel’s northern front line will arrive on Wednesday at Warehouse 2 in Jaffa Port for a three-day fair called “Heart with the North.” The event, organized with Channel 12 News and Jaffa Port Company, is meant to support displaced northern residents and business owners whose livelihoods were hit during the war. Visitors will be able to buy products directly from the businesses, without middlemen.

Among the participants is the studio Ouma, run by Arad and Maya, a couple from Kfar Tavor in the Galilee who live there with their three daughters. They said, “Here, between family, education and creation, our ideas are born.” The studio makes products that “connect people” around a table, in families, classrooms, groups of friends, and sometimes also for individual use.

Ouma develops educational placemats and original paper escape rooms that combine knowledge, creativity, and fun. The couple said they want the products to do more than look good, adding that they aim for items that spark curiosity, thought, and conversation, and that make children, parents, and other participants pause, play, learn, and get excited together.

The fair will also feature live coverage from a special Channel 12 broadcast point at the port, with Guy Varon and Almog Boker. The initiative grew out of Boker’s “Helping Businesses in the North” segment, which said it assisted more than 1,000 businesses during the fighting. Jaffa Port manager Kobi Yardeni said the port sees itself as a public space that connects people and communities, and that it wanted to help strengthen northern businesses and communities. The fair runs Wednesday, June 17, from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Thursday, June 18, from noon to 11:00 p.m., and Friday, June 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
