Joint List Chairman Expresses Disappointment with Ra'am's Decision

Yosef Jabareen, chairman of the Hadash party and the Joint List, has voiced disappointment with the Ra'am party's decision not to join forces with the other Arab parties. Jabareen stated that Ra'am's press conference announcing the addition of Yoav Segalovitz indicated that Ra'am's leadership had a different political agenda from the outset, rather than joining the Joint List. He believes that if Ra'am had joined the Joint List, which comprises Hadash, Ta'al, and Balad, they could have secured 17 or even 18 seats in the upcoming Knesset elections on October 27th. Jabareen expressed optimism that the Joint List would achieve a significant electoral success, predicting they would win more than eight seats. He also estimated that any Arab party other than the Joint List and Ra'am would not pass the electoral threshold. Mansour Abbas, chairman of Ra'am, had reportedly attempted to reach an agreement on the division of roles, where Ra'am would join the Change coalition, and the Joint List would facilitate the election of an alternative coalition to replace the right-wing government through a one-time vote.
