Joint List Plans to Pressure Ra'am for Alliance Without Yoav Segalovich
The official announcement of the merger between the parties Hadash, Balad, and Ta'al is expected by Sunday. Following this, the Joint List will push the Ra'am party to unite with them, but without including Yoav Segalovich, according to a report on Wednesday evening by Kan News. A Ra'am source indicated the party is likely to refuse a full merger but may agree to a surplus-vote agreement with the Joint List. Additionally, the parties are expected to agree not to attack each other during the election campaign.
Last week, after a meeting between Segalovich and Ra'am leader Mansour Abbas, Kan News reported that Segalovich might join Ra'am. Their two-and-a-half-hour discussion covered principles for joint work and strategies to combat crime in the Arab community. It was suggested that Segalovich would be placed second on the list. Their agreements include freedom of expression on security, religion, and state issues, but not freedom of voting, at least for now. Segalovich would not be considered a Ra'am member but an independent candidate within it. Ra'am would support a civil service framework for the Arab community, subject to approval at Ra'am's conference later this month.
Separately, Kan News reported on a survey by Reshet Bet showing Gadi Eizenkot surpassing Netanyahu after being "ousted" by party members, with Netanyahu considering reserving a spot for Yuval Diskin.
