Kalashnikov Rifle Found Buried in Nazareth Home, Suspect Arrested
Police in Nazareth announced the discovery of a Kalashnikov rifle buried in a planter in the yard of a home in the city. A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing the weapon.
During a raid and search of the suspect's home on Tuesday, police officers began digging in a garden planter and found the rifle buried there. The weapon was confiscated, and the suspect was taken for questioning.
Authorities are expected to request an extension of the suspect's detention before the Nazareth-Nof HaGalil Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, based on the investigation's findings.
Police stated that since the beginning of the year, forces, in cooperation with Border Guard fighters, have seized over 610 lethal weapons as part of their efforts to combat crime, violence, and illegal arms.
