Iran Says Ceasefire Implementation Will Begin Friday, Including Lebanon
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the official implementation of the ceasefire in the war, under a memorandum of understanding with the United States, will begin on Friday, the same day the memorandum is set to be signed. He said the new round of Iran-U.S. talks will also take place on Friday in Switzerland.
Araghchi said the negotiations are divided into two stages. The first stage will address ending the war, the Strait of Hormuz, the release of frozen Iranian funds, and reconstruction. The second stage will last 60 days and focus on nuclear issues and the lifting of sanctions.
According to Araghchi, the memorandum of understanding refers to the “immediate and final end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon.”
