Another Knesset Member Departs Yair Lapid's Yesh Atid Party

Knesset Member Debbie Biton announced on Tuesday that she will not run in the upcoming Knesset elections on the Yesh Atid party list. She informed party chairman Yair Lapid of her decision last Thursday, following a period of reflection.

In a post on social media platform X, Biton stated, "After consideration, I informed Yair Lapid last Thursday of my decision not to put myself forward this time for the upcoming Knesset elections within the framework of the forming Yesh Atid list." She expressed satisfaction and pride in her four years of public service, legislation, and advocacy within the Knesset.

Biton thanked Lapid for his trust and the opportunity, and her Yesh Atid colleagues for their shared work and friendship. She clarified that her departure from the party list does not signify a separation from Yesh Atid itself, emphasizing her continued belief in the party's values and her intention to remain active in public life.

Her decision follows similar announcements from Knesset Members Mickey Levy and Meir Cohen, who also stated they would not be running on the Yesh Atid list in the next elections. Levy reportedly reached an agreement with Lapid to remain within the party and continue his work.
