Another Knesset Member Quits Yesh Atid Party Ahead of Elections
Knesset Member Debi Biton announced Tuesday that she will not run for the next Knesset, joining a growing number of lawmakers from the Yesh Atid party who have declared their departure. The announcement was made within the party's group chat for Knesset members.
Biton's decision follows that of MK Mickey Levy, who announced his withdrawal from the upcoming election race on Monday. Levy, a former Knesset Speaker, stated after a meeting with party leader Yair Lapid that he and Lapid had agreed he would instead serve as the chairman of the party's tribunal.
Prior to Levy's announcement, former minister and MK Meir Cohen also declared he would not seek re-election on the "Beitech" list. Cohen is slated to become the chairman and president of the Yesh Atid conference.
