Hapoel Be'er Sheva Signs Top Striker Adrian Aregrisa for $1 Million

Hapoel Be'er Sheva has secured the signing of Peruvian striker Adrian Aregrisa from Ironi Kiryat Shmona for approximately one million euros. The 29-year-old forward had a standout season, finishing second in the league's scoring charts with 18 goals, his first in Israel.

Aregrisa's decision to remain in the Israeli Premier League was influenced by his desire to continue playing domestically. While several clubs pursued him, Hapoel Be'er Sheva, bolstered by their qualification for the Europa League group stage, finalized the deal. Beitar Jerusalem was also interested but found the cost prohibitive, ultimately signing Sean Weissman on a free transfer.

Kiryat Shmona owner Izzy Sheranzky's preference was to sell Aregrisa to an Israeli club, as his release clause for foreign clubs was only 400,000 euros. Hapoel Be'er Sheva owner Alona Barkat recognized the opportunity to strengthen her squad for the upcoming demanding season.

This signing aligns with Hapoel Be'er Sheva's new recruitment strategy of acquiring proven foreign players already performing in the Israeli league. Aregrisa joins fellow successful foreign forwards in the squad, Javan East and Igor Zlatanovic, who previously excelled with Hapoel Haifa and Maccabi Netanya, respectively.
