Walker Left Out of Maccabi’s Final Opening Roster, Odiase Returns for Hapoel
The Israeli Basketball Premier League final between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv begins tonight, Tuesday, at 8:00 p.m. at Maccabi’s home court, Menora Mivtachim Arena, with the game broadcast live on Sports Channel. Both teams published their game-day rosters ahead of tipoff.
Maccabi coach Oded Katash chose not to register Lonnie Walker for the first game of the series. The five foreign players available to him are Yafele Lundberg, Jalen Hoard, Jimmy Clark, Oshae Brissett and Zach Hankins. Tamir Blatt was also left out because of an injury. The rest of Maccabi’s roster includes Amit Abou, Oren Sahar, Roman Sorkin, John DiBartolomeo and Tamir Gold.
On the Hapoel Tel Aviv side, Tai Odiase has been added back to the roster. He joins the team’s four foreign players, Jonathan Motley, Chris Jones, Vasila Micić and Ish Wainright. The player left out to make room for Odiase is Kiandre Cook. League officials noted that the foreign-player registrations can still be changed later in the series.
