Video Shows Kid, 10, With Suspected Kidnapper Before Rescue
Exclusive footage has emerged showing 10-year-old Yahli leaving a neighborhood playground with the 20-year-old man suspected of abducting him. The video captures the two, with Yahli on a scooter, departing the playground shortly before they were located in Bnei Brak.
Yahli, a resident of Petah Tikva, was reported missing on Monday evening. Following the report, police initiated extensive searches and operations. Officers from the Bnei Brak station eventually found Yahli in their city, accompanied by the Jerusalem resident, who is about a decade older.
The pair were brought to the Petah Tikva station, where the suspect was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping. The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation.
Yahli's mother recounted the harrowing hours, stating she knew he wasn't at a friend's house by 10 p.m. She explained that Yahli said a group of children were playing when the suspect, described as 19 years old, frightened them. The suspect allegedly took a phone from one child and then called another, which ultimately aided in locating Yahli.
Despite the other children fleeing, Yahli remained. His mother said the suspect manipulated Yahli, claiming he had no money, and Yahli agreed to help him. Together, they reportedly solicited money from people, even receiving funds from a police officer. The suspect bought Yahli pizza and played with him late into the night before they were found. Yahli's mother expressed hope that nothing further occurred, but they await the conclusion of the investigation.
