Suspect Arrested in Kidnapping of 10-Year-Old Found in Bnei Brak

A Jerusalem resident in his 20s, suspected of kidnapping a 10-year-old boy from Petah Tikva, had his arrest extended by three days by a court on Monday. The child, who had been missing since Sunday evening, was located Monday morning in Bnei Brak accompanied by the suspect.

Police launched an extensive search for the boy after he disappeared from his home. Officers from the Petah Tikva station, utilizing advanced technological means, searched the area. The breakthrough came when Petah Tikva police directed Bnei Brak officers to the location where they found the child with the suspect, identified as a Jewish resident of Jerusalem.

Both the child and the suspect were taken to the Petah Tikva police station for questioning. Investigators are treating the case as a kidnapping and are attempting to understand the circumstances. Initial findings suggest no prior connection between the two, and police stated there is currently no suspicion of sexual offenses.

The suspect was detained following his interrogation and brought before the court, which approved the extension of his arrest to allow for further investigation into the motive and circumstances of the incident.
