10-Year-Old Boy Found Safe in Bnei Brak After Suspected Kidnapping

Police located a 10-year-old boy, Yahli, in the city of Bnei Brak on Sunday night after he had been missing since Saturday evening. A 20-year-old man from Jerusalem, who allegedly lured the child away, was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping. The incident began when Yahli's mother reported him missing from Petah Tikva around 10 p.m. Saturday. She stated that Yahli had told her he was playing with friends when a 19-year-old approached them, frightened them, and took one child's phone. The suspect then used that phone to contact another child, which ultimately led to Yahli's location.

According to Yahli's mother, after the other children fled, Yahli remained with the suspect. The mother recounted that the suspect manipulated Yahli, claiming he had no money, and convinced the boy to help him. Together, they solicited money from various individuals, including a police officer who gave them cash. The suspect reportedly bought Yahli pizza and played with him until late into the night.

Yahli was found by officers from the Bnei Brak police station, part of the Tel Aviv district, along with the suspect. Both were brought to the Petah Tikva station, where the suspect was detained. The investigation into the full circumstances and background of the incident is ongoing. Yahli's mother expressed relief at his safe return but stated they are awaiting the results of the youth investigation to ensure nothing further occurred.
