Former Maccabi Tel Aviv Player Jasiel Rivero Signs One-Month Deal with Valencia Basket

Cuban center Jasiel Rivero, formerly of Maccabi Tel Aviv, has signed a one-month temporary contract with Spanish club Valencia Basket. Rivero has been training with the team for the past week and will participate in their preseason games. The deal aims to allow Rivero to impress the coaching staff during the preparation period and the start of the EuroLeague season, with the goal of securing a permanent contract.

Rivero previously played for Valencia Basket before joining Maccabi Tel Aviv, marking his first EuroLeague stint. During his debut season with Valencia, he averaged 9.4 points and 3.5 rebounds. In the past season, however, his performance with Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) saw him average 4.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in just under 10 minutes per game across 9 EuroLeague appearances, after missing significant time due to injury.

Valencia Basket announced the signing, noting it as a temporary measure. Rivero will aim to prove his worth in upcoming competitions, including the Spanish Supercopa, the EuroLeague, and the Spanish League, to extend his stay with the club.
