Elderly Man Pulled From Sea Near Bat Yam Beach in Critical Condition

An approximately 80-year-old man was pulled from the water near the Rock Beach in Bat Yam on Monday afternoon, in critical condition. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics and EMTs responded to the scene after receiving a report at 3:15 PM. They provided initial medical treatment, performed resuscitation efforts, and evacuated him to Wolfson Hospital while continuing life-saving measures.

Initially, the report indicated the man was around 60 years old, but MDA later updated the age to 80. A senior EMT, Yosef Kurdi, and EMT Ofek Elzam from MDA's motorcycle unit described arriving at the shoreline via a specialized 4x4 ambulance. They observed bystanders performing CPR under the guidance of MDA's 101 emergency dispatch. The medical team continued life-saving care and transported the man to the hospital, stating he was in critical condition and they were fighting for his life.
