Israeli forces destroy 18 weapons-making lathes in overnight Nablus operation
Overnight, fighters from the Yahalom engineering unit and Reservist Battalion 967 carried out a targeted counterterrorism raid in the Nablus area, in the Samaria Brigade sector. The operation took place on Sunday in the Balata camp and the Ras al-Ein area.
During the raid, the forces located and destroyed 18 lathes used to manufacture weapons. According to the military, the equipment had been hidden inside a civilian area and was intended to produce arms and explosive devices.
The army said the machinery was used to make advanced weapons, including guns and explosive charges, meant to harm Israeli security forces and civilians. Additional weapon parts were also found and seized by the troops.
The activity was described as part of the IDF’s ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and prevent weapons production in the West Bank. The targeted areas were identified as known centers of terrorist activity.
