Israeli police and IDF forces raided a tahini factory in Hebron early Thursday morning after receiving precise intelligence, and found an illegal weapons cache hidden inside the industrial site. The operation was carried out by detectives from the Hebron police station together with troops from IDF Battalion 932.
Instead of only food ingredients and raw materials, the search uncovered an FN pistol concealed under a container on the factory grounds. Police later found magazines, ammunition, and M16 rifle parts hidden under cardboard boxes in one of the warehouses.
Police said the raid was part of an ongoing effort to locate illegal weapons across Judea and Samaria. They said the work relies on prolonged intelligence gathering that often leads to weapons being found in places that appear civilian and away from public view.
A 37-year-old Palestinian from Hebron was arrested on suspicion of possessing the weapons and taken for questioning at the police station. Depending on how the investigation develops, police said he is expected to be brought before a court to seek an extension of his detention.
