IDF destroys 18 weapon-manufacturing lathes in Nablus area raid

Israeli forces carried out a targeted overnight operation in the Nablus area of northern Samaria to disrupt terror infrastructure. Fighters from the Yahalom engineering unit, together with reservists from Battalion 967, searched for and destroyed weapon-production sites.

The operation focused on the Balata refugee camp and the Ras al-Ein neighborhood, where the army said it found lathes suspected of being used to manufacture weapons, weapon parts, and explosive devices. In all, 18 lathes operating in the middle of civilian areas were identified.

After searches and engineering checks, all of the lathes were destroyed on site. The troops also found additional weapons parts and other arms, which were seized for further handling and examination by security officials.

Security officials said such activity is a central part of the fight against terror infrastructure in Judea and Samaria, aimed at reducing the ability to produce weapons and preventing attacks on Israeli civilians and security forces. The IDF said the raid was part of an ongoing series of offensive actions in Samaria against terror infrastructure, weapons, and manufacturing labs used by terrorist organizations in the area.
