Comedian Guy Hochman Mocks Ultra-Orthodox Protesters at IDF Recruitment Center

Comedian Guy Hochman visited the IDF recruitment center at Tel HaShomer on Sunday, a day marking a significant enlistment of hundreds of ultra-Orthodox recruits. Hochman arrived to film a humorous video with the new recruits, their families, and members of the Jerusalem Faction, an ultra-Orthodox group protesting outside.

Hochman engaged with the protesters, taunting them with chants of "We will live and we will enlist." When one protester confronted him about the reason for the demonstration, Hochman responded, "IDF Spokesperson lost." He also questioned why the protesters were not studying instead of demonstrating, and asked one parent if they preferred ultra-Orthodox enlistment or Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's downfall.

The current wave of ultra-Orthodox enlistment is expected to continue for two weeks, with hundreds slated for combat roles in specialized units. These include the Netzah Yehuda battalion, the Hasmonean brigade, the Arrow company in the Paratroopers Brigade, and the Negev company in the Air Force.

Excitement was palpable among the recruits and their families at the recruitment base. Among the new soldiers was Itamar Reinhold, a graduate of the "Nitzotz BaEmunah" preparatory program, who joined Netzah Yehuda. He stated his desire to be part of the effort, inspired by his brother's service in Gaza. Shmuel Cohen, also enlisting in Netzah Yehuda, emphasized his commitment to contributing to the country and protecting its citizens. Nachman, joining the Hasmonean brigade, stressed the importance of everyone enlisting, regardless of religious affiliation.
