Israeli Astrologer Maayan Medzini Dies Suddenly During Vacation in Greece

Maayan Medzini, a well-known Israeli astrologer and researcher, passed away unexpectedly while vacationing in Greece. She traveled to Oropos, north of Athens, last Friday for a week-long stay at her family's holiday home and was scheduled to return to Israel on Friday. Her death was discovered during the night between Wednesday and Thursday. Although the cause of death has not been officially determined, her partner Noam Yafe indicated that foul play has been ruled out and it is likely due to cardiac arrest. Her body has not yet been repatriated to Israel. The family announced they will sit shiva starting Sunday, with funeral arrangements to be announced later.

Medzini, aged 53 and mother of four, was widely recognized in Israel for her astrology forecasts, which she shared through a popular website and YouTube channel. She regularly published weekly predictions and conducted courses and lectures. Remarkably, she posted her forecast for the upcoming week on Tuesday, the day before her death. A certified professional astrologer by ISAR, the global astrology organization, Medzini specialized in Western and developmental astrology, advising on relationships, family, finance, and business. She devoted over a decade to astrology, which she regarded as her passion and main profession.

Born in Jerusalem as the youngest of four siblings, Medzini was the daughter of Professor Miron Medzini from the Hebrew University, who served as spokesman for Israeli Prime Ministers Levi Eshkol, Golda Meir, and Yitzhak Rabin. She earned a master's degree in cultural astronomy and astrology from Wales Trinity Saint David University, focusing her thesis on Canaanite goddesses Anat and Ashtoreth and their connection to Venus. Before turning to astrology, she worked in online marketing and the high-tech startup sector.

In her twenties, Medzini lived in New York with her first husband, where she studied communications and gave birth to her second son. After six years, she returned to Israel, settling in Tel Aviv. She met her partner Noam Yafe through mutual friends, and they lived together in Rehovot for the past 20 years, raising two daughters. Yafe described her as an intelligent, life-loving person who profoundly touched everyone she spoke to, able to elevate reality in a unique way only she possessed.
