Vizhnitz Hasidic Leader and Philanthropist Abraham Waserman Dies at 82

Rabbi Abraham Waserman, a revered figure in the Vizhnitz Hasidic community and a dedicated philanthropist, passed away recently at the age of 82 after a prolonged illness. Known for his humility and generosity, Waserman quietly funded the construction of the 'Guest House' building with a personal donation exceeding half a million dollars about forty years ago, insisting that his name not be displayed anywhere on the property.

Waserman was deeply committed to his faith and community, maintaining traditional Hasidic dress even during his frequent business trips abroad. He was closely connected to the Vizhnitz Rebbes, regularly participating in communal prayers and rituals, including a longstanding tradition of greeting the Rebbe immediately after Sabbath.

His funeral procession is scheduled for 2:00 PM, departing from the main synagogue in the Vizhnitz neighborhood of Bnei Brak and proceeding to the Vizhnitz cemetery in the city. He leaves behind a legacy of charitable work and a family devoted to Torah and mitzvot.
