Israeli Prison Service Opens Disciplinary Action Against Officer Over Assault Linked to Parking Dispute

The Israeli Prison Service (IPS) has initiated disciplinary proceedings against a female officer suspected of orchestrating a violent attack involving her sister and friends against a young man over a parking dispute. The incident, which was recorded and broadcast by Channel 13, shows the officer's sister and several women assaulting the young man, Tohar Yaakov from Kfar Yona, with batons, resulting in a head injury that required hospitalization.

The altercation began after the officer allegedly photographed the young man's car license plate. Following this, her sister sent her a message containing a threatening and offensive remark about the victim, who was reportedly involved in a dispute with the officer over a parking spot. The attackers stopped their vehicles on the road to confront and beat the young man, also damaging his car.

The IPS clarified that the event was a private matter unrelated to the officer's official duties. The officer was questioned under caution and released after the investigation. Alongside the ongoing criminal investigation by the relevant authorities, the IPS is examining the case from a disciplinary perspective and will take appropriate measures based on the findings. The IPS emphasized its expectation that all personnel uphold legal and behavioral standards both on and off duty.
