IDF and Shin Bet Kill Two Hamas Militants Including Yahya Sinwar’s Bodyguard in Khan Yunis Strikes

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet eliminated two Hamas militants in separate strikes in Khan Yunis this week. Both were members of the Nukhba unit who participated in the October 7 massacre and the raid on the Re'im military camp. One of the militants, Razek Sahil Suleiman Abu Shakhma, served as the bodyguard for former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

The first strike, conducted on Sunday, killed Hazem Musa, a Nukhba operative involved in the Re'im camp attack. The following day, Abu Shakhma was targeted and killed in another operation. According to the IDF and Shin Bet, both militants had recently advanced terror plans against Israeli forces and civilians and were attempting to rebuild Hamas’s operational capabilities, violating the ceasefire agreement.

The Israeli military stated that these strikes aimed to neutralize immediate threats and that forces under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the ceasefire, prepared to continue operations to eliminate any imminent dangers.

This operation underscores ongoing Israeli efforts to prevent Hamas from regaining strength following the October 7 attacks and maintain security along the Gaza border.
