IDF Soldiers Punished for Expressing Dissent on Incident

Four soldiers from the Givati Brigade who were not present at an incident that is currently under investigation were summoned by their battalion commander, questioned about their stance on the matter, and subsequently sentenced to disciplinary punishment, including confinement to base. According to information received by Arutz 7, these soldiers were interrogated about their opinions regarding the incident. After they expressed views that did not align with the battalion commander's position, it was decided to bring them to a disciplinary hearing and impose the punishment.

Sources within the brigade described the action as unprecedented, stating it further deepens the sense of crisis and division between some soldiers and the command. "They did not participate in the event, did not violate an order, and did not refuse to carry out a mission," one source said. "The feeling is that they were punished simply for expressing their opinion." The IDF Spokesperson's Unit declined to comment on the matter.
