Retired IDF General Urges Stronger Response to Gaza Kite Terror Threats

Retired Brigadier General Uzi Dayan called for a shift in Israel's policy toward the kite and balloon terror attacks originating from Gaza. In an interview on the program "Israel Haboker," Dayan argued that Israel should target every launch site, even those located in civilian neighborhoods, to deter Hamas. He described the kite attacks as a sign of Hamas's weakness but acknowledged they undermine Israeli security and sovereignty.

Dayan emphasized that the kite terror is not a minor nuisance but a deliberate attempt by Hamas to test Israel's response. He warned that the threat could escalate beyond the Gaza Strip. Despite this, he advised against panic, framing the attacks as a strategic weakness of Hamas rather than a major military threat.

The retired general advocated for continued Israeli military operations inside Gaza, using a strategy he termed "kill and fold," which involves eliminating suspected terrorists and gradually taking control of more territory. He stated unequivocally that "there will be no solution in Gaza without its occupation." Dayan concluded with a stark statement, saying Gaza should be reduced to a state comparable to Berlin in 1945 before any political resolution can be considered.
