Two months after the sudden death of renowned fitness coach Gilad Yankelovich, his family has disclosed that the official cause of death was suicide. Yankelovich's sisters posted on his Facebook page that while they had refrained from sharing details out of respect and pending the coroner's final report, the official findings have now been made public. They expressed their heartbreak and difficulty in understanding the circumstances leading to this tragedy, asking for privacy during this painful time. Yankelovich, who passed away on June 9, 2026, at age 71, was found lifeless at the base of his 16-story residential building in Hawaii. The Honolulu Police Department investigated the circumstances of his death. Yankelovich was a prominent figure in the fitness world, best known for his 1983 TV workout program "Body in Motion," filmed against Hawaii's scenic backdrop. In the months before his death, he was in advanced talks with Sport Channel for a new series to be filmed in Israel and broadcast in the United States.
