Moshe Amado, the iconic restaurateur who founded the renowned Amado restaurant in Haifa's lower city in the 1980s, passed away on Sunday. Known as a beloved and colorful figure in Haifa's culinary and social scene, Amado left behind children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His daughter, Liat Amado, announced his death on Facebook, sharing heartfelt memories of his charismatic and wise personality.
Amado's restaurant, located at 5 HaMishtera Street, was famous for its seafood and served as a popular gathering place that connected people through good food and lively conversations. The venue attracted many cultural figures, including Dan Ben Amotz, who celebrated his birthday there in the late 1980s. Liat described her father as a man of the stage and sea, with striking looks and a magnetic charm that drew people to him.
