Haim Yellin Warns Israel Against Accepting Peace Council's 15-Point Plan After October 7 Attacks

Haim Yellin, former Knesset member and head of the Eshkol Regional Council, expressed deep concern over the possibility that Israel might accept the 15-point plan proposed by the "Peace Council," which demands the withdrawal of IDF forces from the Gaza Strip. Speaking to Channel 7 following the cabinet's rejection of the plan, Yellin warned that even if the terrorists control only ten percent of the territory, they could repeat the October 7 attacks and escalate their capabilities, turning any vehicle into a weapon to destroy Israel.

Yellin, a resident of Be'eri who was evacuated during the October 7 fighting, described the attackers as embodying pure evil beyond normal enemy combatants, emphasizing that peace or agreements with such forces are impossible. He stressed the need for "total victory" as promised by the Prime Minister, eliminating terrorism completely. Reflecting on past warnings ignored by Israeli leadership, including early rocket attacks on border communities, Yellin criticized the failure to act decisively in the war's initial months and missed opportunities to destroy terror infrastructure or secure hostages.

He rejected international pressure to reach any agreement that leaves Hamas armed, arguing that the group will rebuild its arsenal regardless of disarmament deals. Yellin called for the destruction of this evil either through military-political means or long-term educational changes, though the latter would take generations and allow the enemy to grow stronger in the meantime.

Highlighting the importance of national unity, Yellin urged Israelis to overcome internal divisions and present a united front to restore security and morale among returning residents. He concluded by honoring the fallen soldiers and rescuers, underscoring that the fight continues both in Gaza and Lebanon, and expressing hope that the nation will be worthy of their sacrifice.
