The story · English

Guy Peleg, a journalist for Channel 12 News, opened his radio show on 103fm with a critical reflection on recent interviews given by Yoav Horowitz, former Chief of Staff and CEO of the Prime Minister's Office under Benjamin Netanyahu. Peleg acknowledged Horowitz as a highly capable and impressive public servant, describing him as one of the best in the country with a commendable record and character. However, Peleg admitted feeling discomfort after watching Horowitz's interviews ahead of a documentary series airing on Channel 12.

Peleg highlighted that Horowitz, who held senior roles in the Prime Minister's Office, witnessed decision-making processes that endangered the state. He referenced columnist Ben Caspit's claim that Horowitz revealed only a fraction of what he knew, and noted that other commentators appeared to have been briefed similarly. Peleg questioned how a person of integrity should act when aware of harmful decisions and falsehoods spread by the Prime Minister and his wife against journalists reporting the truth.

Concluding, Peleg pondered Horowitz's silence since leaving office, especially through four election cycles, asking whether a person of his ethical stature could have remained silent. He suggested Horowitz might have believed he could moderate or prevent disaster while in office but questioned the appropriateness of his continued quietness afterward, inviting listeners to consider their views on the matter.
