The story · English

A 35-year-old Israeli Jewish man, referred to as Yehuda, met his Muslim partner several years ago while working at a hospital. Their relationship, which began romantically, gradually became abusive, involving verbal and physical violence. Despite the difficult circumstances, Yehuda struggled to leave the relationship for years.

Recognizing his son's difficulty in breaking free, Yehuda's father reached out to the organization Yad L'Achim for assistance. Rabbi Yoav Ze'ev Robinson from the organization began meeting with Yehuda regularly, providing ongoing support and guidance to help him understand his situation and find the strength to leave.

After prolonged counseling and support, Yehuda finally gathered the courage to end the relationship last year. He moved out, cut all contact with his former partner, and is now focused on rebuilding his life. Eight months after the separation, he is seeking to meet a Jewish woman and establish a family grounded in Jewish tradition and teachings.

Yehuda's father expressed deep relief and joy at his son's decision, emphasizing the importance of continuing their Jewish heritage. He said, "My son is a descendant of great rabbis from Morocco, and I am happy he chose to leave the non-Jewish woman and continue the Jewish lineage." This marks a significant turning point for the family after years of concern for Yehuda's wellbeing.
