Israel Implements Graphic Health Warnings on All Smoking Products

The Israeli Ministry of Health announced that starting today, graphic health warnings are mandatory on all smoking products sold in Israel. These warnings, covering 75% of the packaging, will appear alongside existing textual warnings. The regulation applies to cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, oral tobacco products, and hookah products. This move aligns Israel with approximately 140 countries worldwide that have adopted similar measures. In the past two months, the national smoking cessation hotline has seen an over 800% increase in calls. Ministry of Health Director-General Moshe Bar Siman Tov stated, "The regulations taking effect today are an important step in the fight against smoking and place Israel alongside other countries globally."
