The story · English

Hadassah Rinat Cohen has released a new song titled "The Best Friends" in memory of Binyahu Malat and Yuval Ezra, who were killed in recent events. The lyrics were originally written nearly six years ago as part of the book "The Thirteenth Child," which explores the lives of children in Israeli settlements and outposts. The words had awaited a new musical arrangement and release until the tragic deaths of Malat and Ezra inspired Cohen to complete the work.

Cohen explained that the faith and resilience shown by those affected by the Gilad Farm fire, along with Malat's last will urging to "continue planting and building, to hold on and conquer the good land with our hands," motivated her and many others. The song aims to portray the beauty of life through the eyes of children living daily in the realities of Judea and Samaria. Cohen described the song as her humble expression of love and appreciation for the settlement enterprise, which persists despite internal and external challenges.
