Israeli Forces Conduct Extensive Operation in Beit Umar Amid Fears of Attacks on Nearby Settlements

Israeli military, Border Police, and Shin Bet completed a large-scale operation in the West Bank village of Beit Umar, located in the Etzion Brigade area, aimed at counterterrorism and arresting wanted individuals. Over 170 locations were searched during the operation, resulting in the detention of suspects and the discovery of various weapons. The operation was prompted by recent gunfire originating from the village, raising concerns that attacks could be directed at nearby Israeli settlements amid an ongoing family feud in the region.

The day before the main operation, forces from the Gideon Unit arrested 33 suspects in the village, including individuals involved in the use of firearms related to the local family conflict. Security officials confirmed that the recent shootings from Beit Umar have heightened fears of potential harm to civilian communities in the area. The operation focused on apprehending those linked to the escalating dispute and preventing further violence.
