US Court Sentences Man to Six Months for Crashing into Chabad Headquarters in Brooklyn
A federal court in Brooklyn sentenced Dan Sohail, a 36-year-old from New Jersey, to six months and one week in prison for deliberately crashing his car five times into the side entrance of the global Chabad headquarters in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The incident occurred in January and caused no injuries. Sohail was also ordered to pay $20,000 in damages. The judge noted that Sohail's mental health significantly influenced his actions and clarified that although the event initially raised suspicions of a hate crime, it was not classified as such. Having already spent about six months in custody, Sohail is expected to be released in approximately one week.
