Israel, Greece, Cyprus and the US Launch Joint Eastern Mediterranean Energy Center

Israel, Greece, Cyprus and the United States launched the “Eastern Mediterranean Energy Center” in Houston on Tuesday, and agreed to prepare a joint roadmap for energy cooperation by the end of the year.

The initiative is part of the 3+1 Energy Dialogue and is meant to focus on energy security, the development of offshore gas fields, infrastructure, innovation and research.

The launch brings the four countries into a new framework for coordinating regional energy policy and projects, with the roadmap expected to define the next stage of cooperation by year-end.
