Iranian Media Celebrates Halt in Attacks as US Retreats, Mocks Trump

Iranian media is portraying the recent cessation of attacks as a significant Iranian victory and a clear American defeat. Conservative outlets aligned with the Iranian regime mock US President Donald Trump, claiming his administration failed to achieve its objectives and was forced to withdraw. Tehran attributes the US retreat to heavy losses and damage to its energy infrastructure, presenting the halt in aggression as a strategic win for Iran.

The conservative Iranian newspaper Kayhan, known as a regime mouthpiece, highlighted a statement from Iran’s leader Mojtaba Khamenei responding to Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem’s letter, declaring "there is no way but jihad and resistance." Kayhan emphasized Iran’s commitment to defending Lebanese fighters and supporting Hezbollah, framing the US withdrawal as proof of American failure. The paper also listed extensive US intelligence and command centers targeted during 15 days of conflict and claimed Iran broke the naval blockade by seizing weapons shipments.

Another conservative outlet, Al-Mashregh, featured a prominent cartoon mocking Trump as running out of ammunition, accompanied by an article listing eight reasons for the US pullback. These included American casualties, damage to energy infrastructure, rising oil prices, fears of war escalation, and Iran’s superior intelligence and operational capabilities. The paper stressed that ending the war requires stopping aggression against Lebanon, which Iran sees as a strategic priority.

Similarly, Vatan-e Emrooz published a "victory report" highlighting Revolutionary Guards’ claims about the damage Iranian missile strikes inflicted on US bases in the region, framing this as evidence Iran compelled Washington to cease attacks. Meanwhile, Javan newspaper asserted that the US failed to meet its war goals and found no exit strategy, warning against giving America any opportunity and calling for thorough security lessons from the conflict.

Overall, Iranian media uniformly presents the US decision to halt attacks as a humiliating retreat, reinforcing a narrative of steadfast resistance and ongoing support for Hezbollah in Lebanon. Tehran conditions the end of hostilities on stopping aggression against Lebanon, underscoring the regional dimension of the conflict.
